Aircraft seating

(OP)
An Aircraft seat that gives more space to the passenger, but also increases seat nos. by 3% to 14% depending on the aircraft. Who gets the most commercial advantage, an Airline or an Airframe Manufacturer? The airframe maker could use it to increase plane sales whereas the airline to increase revenues, but who makes the most. Who would pay the most for the product/patent?

RE: Aircraft seating

The airline. The airline sells the seats over and over, the OEM only sells it once.

RE: Aircraft seating

The aircraft seating manufacturers are the only ones who could use your idea, and develope it further.  Certifying a new design for use on aircraft is a huge expense, and the airframe manufacturers and airlines don't usually have the expertise or will to take it on.
