Standard for allowable permanent web buckling

Standard for allowable permanent web buckling

Standard for allowable permanent web buckling

(OP)
I have a situation where a W18 is being used as a girder with W12s framing into it and concrete floor pured on decking soon to be added on top of it.

The problem is, the W18 was installed with a large permanent web buckling. It takes the shape of a tradition web buckling ( sideways smiley face ) and the center of the web is deflected in one direction nearly 3/4in at the end of the beam.

Is there a particular code or standard that offers guidance on how much web buckling is acceptable? I have looked through both the AISC Code of Standard Practice and ASTM A6 Standard Specification for Rolled Structural Steel Shapes and I haven't found specific guidance in either.

RE: Standard for allowable permanent web buckling

I don't have  it with me now but there I think there is post buckling discussions in the Stability of Metal Structures by Galambos. If not check the AISC searchable database which may be better for what you are looking for anyway.
