Torquing M96X0.5

(OP)
I have an optical device with approximately the thread noted above.  It is coming loose.  We are wondering how much torque we can put on it.

I can do regular thread calculations on it from Machinery's Handbook or from Bickford, but I am not confident about shear.  Machining errors of 0.1mm will cost me a significant proportion of my thread engagement.  I have no resources for inspecting the threads, particularly the internal one.

Is there any literature out there on large diameter, ultra-fine pitch threads?  Any thoughts on this?

RE: Torquing M96X0.5

I'd assemble it with Loctite PST (weak, but effective), or split it and add a pinch bolt.
