Trim for 10" swing check valve

Trim for 10" swing check valve

(OP)
My clients requirement is 10" swing check valve with A216 WCB body & Trim 1. I supplied valve with A216 WCB + 13% Cr for the trim. My client has rejected informing that he asked for trim 1 but I have supplied trim with A216 WCB + 13% Cr. Can any of you give me an idea how I can convince my client to make him accept the supplied valve

RE: Trim for 10" swing check valve

If (1) the customer required you to supply a valve with Trim 1, (2) you accepted their order without specifying that you would supply trim 13%Cr, and (3) you actually supplied something different then contractually agreed, it is within the customer's perogative to reject what you supplied and to hold you liable to supply what was specified in the contract.

RE: Trim for 10" swing check valve

"Trim 13%Cr" doesn't really tell the customer anything it is too generic. you need to define the material of the disc facing , seat ring facing, and the hinge pin.

Trim 1 is 13%Cr seat and disc. You have to demonstrate that there is a 50Hb differential between the seating surfaces and that the nominal hardness is 250.

So if your disc is 250 HB the seat ring must be 300HB or more.

Once you prove this it's possible your customer may accept the valve.
