I need a little help from my US friends.  In the US, what document spells out the welding ticket(s) required for those who weld stainless steel components of structures?

Thanks,

KootK

RE: Qualification for Stainless Steel Welding`

By tickets,  I am assuming you mean here in the US we call it certificates.
AWS - American Welding Society
D1.1 Structural Welding Code

Actually D1.1 is for Structural Steel.  The AWS D1.6 is for Structural Welding of Stainless Steel.

Thanks guys!

Depending on the contract requirements, welders' qualifications per ASME IX are often permitted for stainless steel structurals.

Yes, D1.6. D1.6 is available electronically, so you can get a copy in less than 5 minuites.

Your welder's test coupons can either be cut & bent, or X-rayed.  Thus, you could do it all in one [long] day.
