Grating support

Grating support

Grating support

(OP)
Hello everybody.
After looking on grating shopdrawings and shopdwgs of the structural frame was discovered that there are some cases when grating panels are without any support. I've decided to weld 50x6mm plates to the upper beam flange(HEB320 HEA200) as shown on attached sketch for support parts of the panel that was without some support.
Please tell me if you have any doubt about this solution(plates have already been welded).
The panels should carry uniformly ditributed load 5 kN/sqm.
Thank you

RE: Grating support

Alexis,

You might want to check PIP standards or with the manufacturer with the allowable unsupported lengths.

Cheers

RE: Grating support

You should be addressing this question to the design engineer, not to folks on the internet who have no knowledge of the project.
