Seek recommendations for braze fixturing materials

Brazing carbide at up to 1500 F

1.    High strength rods to position parts during brazing
2.    Somewhere the previous person found 2 materials
A.    a material that looks sort of like a particle board
B.    a material that looks like has mica in it with a green layer on one side  

I would appreciate any recommendations anyone cares to make.
