Linking orphan mesh to part

(OP)
Hello!
I am new in using Abaqus and I have a problem. I have a part created in Catia v5 (catpart file) and meshed in Pastran (inp file). I can import both files to Abaqus but I do not know how to connect them.
I need that because I have to define material orientation of one set (sewing yarn) which goes along curve (that's why I need part which containes info about surface and edge needed to create propper material orientation). I hope I wrote question clearly enough.

Best regards,
EM
