Regarding Steam pressure

Regarding Steam pressure

Regarding Steam pressure

(OP)
What is the literal meaning of "steam pressure", If steam is flowing through a duct, and an pressure gauge is used to indicate pressure, what pressure does it indicate? Static(reflecting its temperature) or Dynamic(flow characteristics)?

RE: Regarding Steam pressure

Usually, it means the static pressure of the steam.

Good luck,
Latexman

RE: Regarding Steam pressure

By contrast velocity pressure wuld be the pressure exerted by fluid flow and you could use a pitot tube to measure it.

RE: Regarding Steam pressure

Depending on how the gauge is placed,  you might get minor differences which may include/exclude the pressure of the flow.
