Wider beam connection (Steel Structure)

What'd your suggestions be for a wide beam connection in a steel multi-story structure? E.g. the column is a box section (Tub 180x180x16) and the beams are HE 400-B. Perhaps, increasing the box section dimensions a solution? Regards

RE: Wider beam connection (Steel Structure)

What type of connection do you want to release - rigid or hinge?

Moment resisting on one side, and hinged on the 2nd. The problem is more locational than statical. I'm looking for a solution on how to situate the beams when they are wider than the concerning dimensions of the columns. Currently, I am planning to extend the dimensions of the columns if nothing else.

RE: Wider beam connection (Steel Structure)

No need to change the column dimensions at the hinge side. And where the rigid connection is, I would widen the column locally.
