Medium Voltage Fuses

Medium Voltage Fuses

(OP)
I am looking at a fuse and it has (3) columns; Shorty, link, and OS.  What are the differences between these fuses.  This fuse will be used on the primary side of a 12kV to 480V D-Y xfmr.

Can somebody explain the differences to me?

RE: Medium Voltage Fuses

The OS (oil submersible)and Shorty (technically called as OS Shorty)are backup type current limiting fuses. However OS Shorty fuses are newly designed which are smaller in size and allows easy installation.
The link column is not a fuse. It is the type of fuse coordination curve.
Say for example, C04 under "link" column means "four operations on C curve".

Santosh
