ALE Adaptivity Problem "Error: std_aleElength"

ALE Adaptivity Problem "Error: std_aleElength"

(OP)
Hello,

i am new using ABAQUS CAE and trying to simulate a friction welding process.

to remesh de deformed zone i want to use ALE Adaptivity. (Elements are CGAX4HT, they are "accepted")

When the increment reaches the ALE Freaquency (e.g. 10) Job aborts with the messeage "Error in std_aleElength"

Does anybody have a suggestion? Thanks for your help.

Bruno

I think i have found the answer myself.

CGAX4HT are NOT allowed to be used for ALE Adaptivity.

Only axisymmetric elements without Twist can be used.

So I think i need to use a mesh-to-mesh mapping solution.

Thanks anyway!
