DFIG IP Test

DFIG IP Test

DFIG IP Test

(OP)
Good Morning

Last days we was done some  DFIG wind generator inspection including Stator and Rotor PI test.

The rotor wires was not disconnected on the slip rings only the brushed raised and insulated and the PI was done ussing a megger.

The question is if we found low rotor IP values (1.1-1.5) could the slip rings be part of this bad reading?

Did the ring play a fundamental roll in the insulation polarization? if yes How

Thanks for the inputs and regards

Carlos

RE: DFIG IP Test

How clean is the collector gear? If there's a film of carbon dust on surfaces then I'd expect that to upset the PI reading, but the problem would likely show up as a lower IR measurement result too.
