Electric Motor Lifetime

Electric Motor Lifetime

Electric Motor Lifetime

(OP)
The term "motor lifetime" is used in many calculations.
There are also tables that predict motor life. This is a typical one.

Are there any standards, rules, recommendations or any obligations of the manufacturer's about what must be the motor life  under nominal conditions?

RE: Electric Motor Lifetime

As far as manufacturer obligation, anything other than warranty may not have much meaning (and even warranty may have fairly small meaning too if OEM is just going to pay for repairs and cost to plant is much larger).

The IEEE gold book provides some statistical analysis of electrical component reliability and lifetimes.  It includes motors.
