Just wondering what the general rule of thumb is for max milling depth. 1.5" to 2"... something like that?

Thanks,
Sean

RE: Max Milling Depth

You might want to post this question in the machines & machining engr. section.

FWIW, I've seen parts made with over 5" cuts, at high speed, in a fairly hard steel.  This was a pretty beefy cutter and a well-clamped part.  The chips came off blue from the heat generated.

RE: Max Milling Depth
