Adding Window and Door Penetrations into RISA concrete wall

Adding Window and Door Penetrations into RISA concrete wall

Adding Window and Door Penetrations into RISA concrete wall

Is there a way to insert penetrations into a large concrete wall panel within RISA or do you have to "build" the model around each penetration?

RE: Adding Window and Door Penetrations into RISA concrete wall

If the material for the wall is a "General" material, then you can add openings to your hearts content.  But, the program does not currently allow openings for walls defined with a concrete material....

That will be in our next release.  All the reinforcement and code checks start getting more complicated with openings.  Therefore, it was left out of version 9.1 (the first version with concrete walls).

JoshPlum - Thanks for the response.  So, for now with RISA 9.1, would you suggest that we analyze the structure (walls) under a general material format and size any headers, etc. within the concrete wall based on the response from the program?
