Non-tested video card causing problems?

Non-tested video card causing problems?

(OP)
I'm running SolidWorks 2006 / Win XP Pro.  I previously had an nvidia Quadro FX 1300 video card which worked fine until it died and completely disabled the whole computer.  I replaced it with a less expensive nvidia GeForce card - not on the SW tested list.  The card seems to mostly work o.k., but things like wraps and helical sweeps take forever to calculate, and SW occasionally crashes.  Is it possible that this card is causing the poor performance and instability?

RE: Non-tested video card causing problems?

Yes, absolutely!

The GeForce and Radeon cards are not suitable for SW. Some people have pretty good success with them (albeit without RealView), but most experience some level of performance or graphics problems.
