CONE BOTTOM TANK

CONE BOTTOM TANK

CONE BOTTOM TANK

(OP)
Hi I am designing a overflow thickener tank with 4.3 meter diameter and 12 meter heigh, with cone bottom. I want to know, if is possible this relation Height/Diameter and which AP code can I use. The client want a cone bottom because He want a drain in the bottom.
Regards

RE: CONE BOTTOM TANK

Standard API tanks have a 1 inch in 10 foot cone to the center, up or down.  You can make it whatever you want and as long as it is full supported it can be an API 650 tank.

RE: CONE BOTTOM TANK

If it's a suspended cone bottom, the bottom itself is covered by API-620 design methods; however, leg supports and shell stresses due to them are not covered by that standard.
