UNS C95400 k-value and/or S-N curves?

UNS C95400 k-value and/or S-N curves?

UNS C95400 k-value and/or S-N curves?

(OP)
We have been asked to verify the fatigue resistance of a component made in Aluminium-Bronze UNS C95400 that will be exposed to very high cyclic loading. Based on experience such materials should be very resistant to fatigue, but now we need to provide calculations. We have done Finite Element Analyses for the structure and have a good understanding of the stresses involved. The problem is that we are not able to find neither the k-value, nor the S-N curve for C95400, and it is therefore difficult to asses the fatigue resistance.

Would anyone out there be able to point to where we could find this? It must exist somewhere

RE: UNS C95400 k-value and/or S-N curves?

did you try the archive at copper.org?
In general this material has reasonable fatigue resistance, it has good ductility, but low strength, so the stress values have to be very low.

Yes, I have searched it but there was nothing useful there...

RE: UNS C95400 k-value and/or S-N curves?

DNV published some fatigue figures, you may check them out.

For example, DNV rules for classification of high speed, light craft and naval surface craft part 3 chapter 9
Has something about aluminum fatigue.

RE: UNS C95400 k-value and/or S-N curves?

You may have to broaden your search and use S-N curve for a similar alloy.
