Error when opening files in Teamcenter & NX7.5

Error when opening files in Teamcenter & NX7.5

Error when opening files in Teamcenter & NX7.5

(OP)
We're relatively new to using TC & NX, so I'm hoping that this isn't plebeian.  Whenever we try to open a file for the first time in a session, we receive an error stating "Cannot create the export dir/files" regardless of whether we launch it through TC or open it up in NX.  After we click OK and try again, it opens successfully with no errors.  Our IT people are stumped.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Ed English

RE: Error when opening files in Teamcenter & NX7.5

Not using TC, but my guess is you aren't getting the file downloaded to your local workspace fast enoght before NX tries to open it. The second time it will open because the download has been completed.

Check network latency and throughput. Are you on a 1Gbit network?

RE: Error when opening files in Teamcenter & NX7.5

There is a setting in TC under Edit - Options, in the left column you goto General - Check-in/Check-out.
There you will see 2 check boxes and Check-out directory :
See what is in the directory and change it to c:\temp or something like that, you can uncheck the the two boxes also. This could solve your problem.

Best regards,

Michaël.

NX7.5.4.4 + TC Unified 8.3

Michael,

Thanks for your input.  I tried modifying that setting but it did not fix the problem.  I really believe the problem lies with a setting within NX7.5 because the error occurs when opening the file from either TC or NX.
