VAV questions?

VAV questions?

VAV questions?

(OP)
Need to know where can I found VAV basic to complicated information - that's including control and other accessories information.

I have project that we need to commission that's include lots of VAV.

Another question: if I need to get the VAV total static pressure is it the same procedure as how you compute the AHU FAN total static pressure?

RE: VAV questions?

The manufacturers catalog?

RE: VAV questions?

As Kiwi said, that info is in the VAV terminal manufacturer's catalog.  It will have static pressure losses as well.  If there is a reheat coil on it, you need to include the static pressure loss on that as well.

RE: VAV questions?

For general to CxA issues, take a look at

peci.org

RE: VAV questions?

Kiwi, I'm new with VAV. Do you have recommended VAV catalogue that I can google?

RE: VAV questions?

Price has great learning modules.

knowledge is power

RE: VAV questions?

Titus has a good online catalog.

RE: VAV questions?

The best catalog is from the manufacturer of the equipment you are commissioning.

RE: VAV questions?

Cdxx139 you suck!

Thanks for the guys who share. Help me a lot.

RE: VAV questions?

Thanks cdxx139, my bad.

The link is great do you have the VAV "Box" too? They have excellent information on VAV diffuser.

RE: VAV questions?

http://www.titus-hvac.com/

Go to "terminal units" and there will be info on all types of vav boxes.  Titus is an industry standard manufacturer so the cfm and pressure drops should not change too much between manufacturers like titus, price, metalaire, but if your talking phoenix boxes or some other manufacturer then you need to look an their website.

RE: VAV questions?

Is it applicable to use 2 accu for one fcu only?

RE: VAV questions?

Hi MechEngNpe,
I browse the titus website and I look for one of vav boxes. Data are based on 180f entering water and 75f entering air. What will be the recommended delta T for air and water?

Btw this is fan powered - parallel.

RE: VAV questions?

Do an energy balance.  Water delta T's are usually 20 or 40.  The air off your coil should be no more than 90dF, it is usually around 80-85.  Remember to find your tmix with the supply air and the plenum air.  Plenum air around here is usually about 68dF and primary air 55F.  Find the tmix, then use the qroom to find the qcoil.
