Pressure Relieving Pipe Plug
Pressure Relieving Pipe Plug
(OP)
Some years ago, I saw a line of NPT pipe plugs and caps that had the ability to indicate stored pressure (via a small leak or hiss), before the plug or cap was fully disengaged. Sort of like the cap on a carbonated beverage bottle. As I remember, the plug had a groove machined on the face (small end). If pressure is detected, the mechanic simply retightens the plug.
I have a potential application for such a plug, but have misplaced the mfrs literature.
Any help in tracking down the source or manufacturer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the lead - a star for your effort.
I did find a handful of these plugs at a McJunkin Redman warehouse in Houston. Unfortunately, have yet to track them back to the original source. So, I'm still looking.....
Thanks again,
