extra precision ball bearings

I am looking for a source for extra precision ABEC-3, extra light single row ball bearings, specifically the equivalent of Fafnir M9102K.   These bearings are available in angular contact, but I cannot use those.   Distributors and Timken (which acquired Fafnir) have told me the M type is no longer made in single row non-angular contact.   I may be forced to use the lesser grade 9102K, but because my application is for gaging I would benefit from the greater precision of the M9102K.   Any leads to possible sources or alternatives would be appreciated.   This bearing has an ID of 15 mm, OD of 32 mm, and width of 9 mm.   Even a few microns of improvement to runout is important. - CS

RE: extra precision ball bearings

You can try Alpine bearing for ABEC 5 or 7
http://www.alpinebearing.com
click on "MACHINE TOOL SPINDLE BALL BEARINGS" and then "PRECISION RADIAL"

Thanks for the leads.   I'll check them out.   Angular contact, I think, will be too hard to set and maintain preload on with the design I'm dealing with.

RE: extra precision ball bearings

Isn't this just a 6002P6?
Should be available somewhere.

RE: extra precision ball bearings

Most standard bearings will test out as an ABEC3 anyway.

You need a good bearing distributor, this should not be hard to find.

Well, it looks like Alpine Bearing may have some NHBB ABEC 7's.   Yes, I am disappointed in my big-time nationwide distributor (who will remain nameless).   It sure is nice to have a forum like this to go to where people know a thing or two.

RE: extra precision ball bearings

Abec 7 may be overkill and very expensive. Consolidated Bearing should be able to offer a cheaper p6 or ABEC 3 bearing
