How To make a real torque reading

How To make a real torque reading

(OP)
Hello All

I am looking a good information in order to know how to  take good and real torque readings in loaded electric motors (some instrument? anything available in the market?)  not calculating the torque based in other electric parameters.

Thanks for the inputs

RE: How To make a real torque reading

Hi Petronila;
What size motors and what type of drives?
Direct drive?, belt drive?, built in motors?, do you have room to instal some type of torque transducer on the motor shaft?, is it possible to measure the torque reaction of the stator?

Dynamometer

RE: How To make a real torque reading

There are some wireless, strain gauge type of torque meters that are attahched to the motor shaft or coupling shaft.

I can't find it right now, but there's one meant for permanent installation.

Thanks to all

Waross: Direct drive size up to 1000 HP

Thanks

RE: How To make a real torque reading

I use the older version of this product:
http://www.binsfeld.com/index.php/products/TT10K/
It is very adaptable to various size motors whether in plant, lab or field installations. It also provides dynamic torque for statup transients and torsional vibrations. I measure shaft speed with an optical tachometer so that I can calculate true HP.
