Creating An Offset Constraint Between Contact Surfaces

Creating An Offset Constraint Between Contact Surfaces

Creating An Offset Constraint Between Contact Surfaces

(OP)
Using Catia V5R19;

Is there a way to create an offset constraint between contacted surfaces? I.e. an offset constraint between a flat and round surface.

Any response will be greatly appreciated!

RE: Creating An Offset Constraint Between Contact Surfaces

Use offset constraint between a flat (plane) and round (cylinder):
pick the plane, then pick the cylinder surface (axis line will appear)then the offset will be the radius of the cylinder.

I have to type in the value of the offset? What happens if the radius changes, I have to retype the value again?

RE: Creating An Offset Constraint Between Contact Surfaces

If you use offset (as you asked about), and you change radius, then you will have to change offset value.
Are you wanting to use contact constraint? You select plane, then cylinder, then internal or external.

I want to create a distance between a plane & a cylinder face regardless of the part sizes.
