Lightning Strikes

Lightning Strikes

(OP)
Hi All,

I've been asked to undertake a study for ignition prevention.  We have a newly installed vent tower (natural gas)which has during recent storms been ignited because of lightning strikes.  The closest we can get to the top is 20M where we have a working platform and a potential base of any construction. Can anyone give me some pointers or does anyone have experience with telescopic lightning masts? Thanks in advance. We have tried snuffing the flame out with a blast of nitrogen but our local stored volume cannot maintain this for it to be considered a sufficient solution.
