How to apply thermal loads on a pipeline which is 30 kms long?
How to apply thermal loads on a pipeline which is 30 kms long?
(OP)
Hi ,
I'm working on a project to analyze pipeline walking and the pipeline is very long (30 kms) . Is there any option of using coupled temp displacement on a beam element since i can't model the whole pipeline as a shell.
Also it shows that I cant apply pipe pressure on a shell model. There's a temperature gradient present from the hot end of pipeline to the cool end.

I found another way of doing it, by applying temperature gradient at initial step and then varying the field at different steps. I used PIPE31 element , but now i have to model the seabed using PSI34 element . Any ideas on this ?
Thanks.
