Water Pipeline Corrosion Rate

Water Pipeline Corrosion Rate

Water Pipeline Corrosion Rate

(OP)
I'm looking for a rough estimate of corrosion rate for a 4" water pipeline in muskeg area. Is there any graph or reference that I can use for this application?
Water Properties:
pH 8.5
Chloride 1970 mg/L
TDS 4308 mg/L
Calcium 17.1 mg/L
Magnesium 7.5 mg/L
Sodium 1520 mg/L

RE: Water Pipeline Corrosion Rate

Is the mentioned alcaline water with ph 8.5 inside the pipe, isn't it? and the acidic muskeg is outside the pipe? Is the water inside the pipe stagnant or flowing? Are you asking for both the external and internal corrosion rates? Is the pipe carbon steel? Is the alcaline fluid at ambient temperature? Please clarify.
Cheers,
gr2vessels

RE: Water Pipeline Corrosion Rate

Yes, the menthion water properties is for the water inside the pipe. The internal corrosion is our concern since there is a cathodic protection for external corrosion.the water is flowing with 400 cubic meter per day. The pipe is carbon steel and the water temperature is 25 deg C.
