Boiler/Furnace Camera Models and Manufacturers
Boiler/Furnace Camera Models and Manufacturers
(OP)
All,
I am a first year engineer at a coal fired power plant and was just given the task of replacing our boiler inspection cameras. They are stationary setups with automatic retracts. The plant is not entirely happy with our current models and wants me to find other possible manufacturers/models that may work better.
I was wondering if any of you use high temp cameras in similiar situations and if you had any recommendations. Any information will be glady appreciated. Thank you.
Ben

You want someone that really knows what they are doing in this business.
Did you google "Furnace cameras"? I did and could have read for about a week.
Also, go to powergen.com and look through their exhibitor list (at last year's show for example) for camera suppliers. Those are the guys that are established in that industry (or trying to be).

Lenox Instrumemt
Diamond Electronics
Mirion Technologies
SynFab
All had comparable statistics, but few operational videos. I was looking for any testimonials from actual users. Just to keep the manufacturers honest. I have all the technical data already, but someone who has actually used a camera's opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Diamond Electronics has been around for a long time and even go back to before Diamond Power spun them off.
SynFab has lots of experience in not only utility furnaces but pulp & paper furnaces including bark boilers and chemical recovery boilers - furnace and smelt bed viewing.
Either one of those should know what they are doing.
I can't speak to the other two, good or bad.
