Conveyance pipe thrust collar

Conveyance pipe thrust collar

(OP)
I have an 84 inch diam. conveyance pipe going into a 4 foot wide tank slurry wall that I need to design a restraint system for. The pipe has a calculated 145 kip thrust that needs to be balanced by the slurry wall.  I am looking for some design examples of how to do this. Any help would be great.

RE: Conveyance pipe thrust collar

Looks like you could build that portion of the tank wall as a retaining wall, or simply locate a pipe anchor block near to the tank wall to hold that thrust.  Rather than a sleeve, can you use an integral pipe anchor flange-type design wherever you anchor it, basically a double necked flange with no joint in between flanges (where the gasket would normally go).

We will design everything from now on using only S.I. units ... except for the pipe diameter.
