How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

(OP)
Does anyone know if there is a string manipulation function that can be used to, from a note object, remove the post-fix characters from DB_PART_NO?

RE: How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

What type of post-fix characters are you getting that shouldn't be there?

RE: How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

(OP)
For instance, if DB_PART_NO = XYZ-5-2345678-011ABC, I want to get rid of "XYZ-" and "ABC"

RE: How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

Is  XYZ-5-2345678-011ABC the actual note text, or are you using <W@DB_PART_NO> and want to alter the output?

RE: How to get the part no by removing a post-fix from DB_PART_NO

(OP)
Yes, I want to alter the output of <W@DB_PART_NO> without changing the content of <W@DB_PART_NO>
