Hi everybody,
I'm running a Steady State Thermal Analysis (sol 153) of an assembly using FEMAP and Nastran. My load set comprises a number of heat fluxes, which are supposed to be dissipated by radiation. At the steady state, I expect the summation of heat fluxes (power) to be exactly counterbalanced by the radiation flux - the so-called "radiative equilibrium".

Unfortunately, this does not happen: the radiative flux is less than the load flux, it seems like not all the loads are correctly "translated" or taken into account (e.g. input power: 17W, output radiative power: 11.5W).

What makes everything even weirder is that, for some loading conditions, the radiative equilibrium is worked out correctly, so there are no failures in the model.

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Just for information - I solved the problem. I applied the loads as "Nodal", instead of as "On Surface", and it worked. It should be the same but, for some reason, it wasn't...
