Can Gruvlock piping system be used for heating hot water?  I'm worried about the gaskets holding up over time due to the 180 deg temp.

EPDM basket are rated up to 230 °F. There is anywya a specific silicone based lubricant to be used with copper pipe (Gruvlok Xtreme Lubricant), which they claim capable to withstand temperatures up to 400 °F.

Agree, it works well IF each piece is supported such that there is very little weight on the fittings.  It ain't welded pipe, so the joints will not take much of a gravity load.  Figure twice the hangers you are used to.
