Reverse power (32) on the LV side

Reverse power (32) on the LV side

Reverse power (32) on the LV side

(OP)
We have a Dyn5 ( 25kv /480V)2.5 MVA transformer and a switch on the HV side. We need to apply a reverse power relay on the system to trip the breaker incase power is reversed. There isn't any PT isntallaed on the HV side and it's not possible to do it either. If we accomodate installing CTs and PTs on the LV side , what items do we need to consider?

Thank you for all responces in advance.

RE: Reverse power (32) on the LV side

There shouldn't be any issues.

RE: Reverse power (32) on the LV side

Power in = power out.  No issues as David said.  No conern about phase angle shifts or power transformer connections.

Make sure the VT & CT configuration and relay connections match the relay instructions and you should be OK.

RE: Reverse power (32) on the LV side

If you want it to trip on reverse power (kW) not a problem, but if you want it to trip when the high side switch is opened or disconnected, your watt load may be to low to trip the relay.
