Autogenous Welding per Section 9 & B31.3
Autogenous Welding per Section 9 & B31.3
(OP)
I would like to learn more about autogenous welding processes, which do not use filler material. The application I am interested in would be applied to full penetration pipe butt welds, such as to connect a weld neck flange to a pipe run.
Where would an autogenous process typically be applied? Are there diameter and thickness limitations, or other special considerations? The welding must also be in conformance with ASME B31.3 and ASME Section 9.
Thanks for any input.
