Mechanical Routing NX6

Mechanical Routing NX6

Mechanical Routing NX6

(OP)
I searched the archives. There have been several posts concerning NX routings. Very few have been responded to. All that I found were simply closed. That is most curious.Compared to NX5, NX6 is much less intuitive. "Lock to Object" fails. There seems to be no numerical control to the route. Context Help crashes entirely. As simple a concept as making a routing element collinear or perpendicular to another undefined. Am I missing something?

The help files need to be installed separately, perhaps they were not installed or not installed correctly.

You can do quite a bit of routing with the base modeling package, I suspect that's what most users get along with. It doesn't seem that many users on this forum have access/experience with the routing application, perhaps your question would get a better response on Siemens' forum, they have a section dedicated to the routing application. http://bbs.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/vbulletin/

Do you mean the modeling application or the routing application (possibly both)? If you have any specific questions, please ask.

Perhaps the Help files were installed incorrectly. The one currently available here has nothing relative to Position Override with Assembly Constraints. I have not figured how to add an on-the-fly quote, drat. The comparason of 5 to 6 was in reference to Routing specifically on this thread. I appreciated the interactive route control triads(?)on 5. Again, though, this issue may be site specific. "Ports" are not added to objects to start a routing with. My workaround was the dynamic CSYS.
