Normalize temperature range?

Normalize temperature range?

Normalize temperature range?

Dear Value Expert,

I had try so suft net, but can't get the normalizing (for metal working) temperature range. Please advise me and the code or standard as well.

Thank you very much in advance.

RE: Normalize temperature range?

Unable to understand your question. however, I assume you are looking for temperature at which steel is normalized. It is 920C.

RE: Normalize temperature range?

....as anumrao mentioned the temperature at which steel is normalized ( this obviously is the "metal" which you refer ) is something above 900 C.

Thank you for replying both of you. Because i found a Normalized AISI 4130, TS is 621MPa (Found in ASTM A519, pg 11). But i dont get the range of normalizing temperature. Hence i ask.

I have done the PWHT at 640 deg C, i got TS at 650MPa. Is this TS within normal range? Which standard or code i can refer to? This is VERY x3 important to me. Thank you VERY x3 much.

RE: Normalize temperature range?

Yes, your UTS after PWHT seems within normal or expected. The UTS for normalized 4130 is reported at approximately 670 MPa. Sorce of information is ASM Metals Handbook.
