UNX Drawing a line for me?

UNX Drawing a line for me?

UNX Drawing a line for me?

(OP)
hey all,

I am having the following issue: I am given a Function discribing a curve for me (lets say parabolic). I want this line in Unigraphics (using nx6). Is it possible to just enter this function in spreadsheet and let NX draw the curve?

Or do I need to import a pdf/ tiff drawing from the plotted function using the Studio raster Image?

Ofcourse I am looking for the first option to succeed here..

Any help would be appreciated

RE: UNX Drawing a line for me?

If you've got a mathematical formula describing a curve, you can probably use the 'Law Curve' function to create your curve.  The formula would be entered into the Expression system as a series of equations representing the values of X and Y (and Z if it's a 3D curve) and then these expressions (equations) are referenced when creating the 'Law Curve'.

Ah that looks promising, Thanks!

RE: UNX Drawing a line for me?

If the function describes a true conic curve, NX has functions to draw those directly given some combination of coefficients or parameters. Have a look in the Insert -> Curve... menu (if you don't see the options you may need to switch to a role with full menus or customize your menu to add the commands).
