Battery Capacity modeling
Battery Capacity modeling
(OP)
Hi,
I am trying to model the battery capacity loss due to charge/discharge cycles. I am modeling a 15mA Li-ion smartphone and hoping to gather some equations that might help me graph a typical lifespan of the phone relative to battery capacity. Most graphs I have seen are somewhat linear in reference to %capacity and charge cycles. I would like to model the lifespans with various phone efficiencies. The change in efficiencies would in turn impact the amount a user would be required to charge their phone on a weekly basis. Any information, reading material or other resources and assistance would be really appreciated. Also, if the thought process above is not accurate please correct me. This is a new field for me and I have very little battery knowledge.
Thank you,
Christa

Weekly? Some of the modern "smart phones", assuminng that they're being used as intended, would need charging almost every night.
Personally, assuming that I'm sleeping somewhere next to an electrical outlet (is that so rare?), charging my iPhone every night is a very simple exercise (simpler even than bothering to investigate if it needs charging or not, and trying to anticipate the next day's usage).
