Die casting aluminum info.

Die casting aluminum info.

Die casting aluminum info.

(OP)
Hi people.
i would like to know, if someone could help me with some info about die casting aluminum:

- what is the shrinkage of aluminum?

- how big should the draft angles be?

- how about the size of the runners and gate(s)?

im goind to die cast a part which volume is equal to 17.6 cubic inches.

RE: Die casting aluminum info.

You should talk to a diecaster.  Each of your questions has many variables depending on the part design and cross section.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

RE: Die casting aluminum info.

Either it could be an assignment question or the OP must engage the services of a knowledgeable consultant.

It will not be possible to provide text book inputs like shrinkage of aluminium,,draft angles or relief or the size of rigging systems without knowing,if it is a permanent mold casting or a high pressure die casting, etc.
