REVISIONS TO ELECTRICAL CODES AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA OR PSUNAMI TYPE OF OTHER  NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL  FLOOD INCIDENTS

I am an Electrical Engineer currently working in Washington DC
I have been seeking answers for published Electrical Code changes or/and revisions  to Electrical Code after Hurricane Katrina and other National flood incidents.

I used to work for a Government Agency 10 years ago here in Washington DC that used  to design and build Hospitals all over the  US. I have been told that there has been many Electrical Code Changes due Katrina and other flood related National disasters

So far no one could point me in the right direction as to where these specific code changes that are published.

I will greatly appreciate if someone can direct me in the right direction or /and refer me to right source of information.

Thanking you in advance

RE: REVISIONS TO ELECTRICAL CODES AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA

The National Electrical Code is revised every three years, whether it needs it or not.  Which revisions might be specifically flood related would be buried in proposals.  During the revision process it is easy enough to get copies of all the proposed revisions and the actions of the code making panels.  After the fact might be a different matter.

RE: REVISIONS TO ELECTRICAL CODES AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA

I don't recall any flood specific changes to the national codes.

You might pose this question on one of the forums dedicated to the National Electric Code like http://forums.mikeholt.com/

That site is frequented by inpsectors and working electricians who would be most affected by any changes.

RE: REVISIONS TO ELECTRICAL CODES AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA

I agree with the others - I don't recall any hurricane/flood/Katrina specific changes to the NEC being brought up.

It's possible some local (State, city) codes were changed.
