Radial Jack

Radial Jack

(OP)
Hi,

Is there such a thing as a 'radial jack', i.e. a disc that expands radially when actuated?

For example, you could place it in a round hole in an elastic material, actuate it, and it would open up that hole to a greater diameter.

Thanks,

Ed

RE: Radial Jack

Sounds like you're looking for a pipe expander.

RE: Radial Jack

or a mandral like they use to cold work (expand) holes.

is this meant for a one time operation or repeated (if repeated, then probably neither of these suggestions'll work for you).

what's the scale of this ? inches? feet? meters?  if it's really large, then you can visualise a bunch a push-rod actuators arranged round a circle ...

Cheers guys, the pipe expander was what I was looking for.

The scale was 100mm diameter.
