Dear All
is there anyone knows about the standards for lining systems in heap leaching process in copper mines? i want to know about details of lining system such as clay barriers and filters and leach collectors,...

Thanks 2 All

RE: Dear All is there anyone knows abo

Generally use 2.5mm plastic (uv protected), but the clay layer takes quite a bit of engineering so would advise that you get help unless you know what you're doing.  Randol has quite a few references that you may find useful.

RE: Dear All is there anyone knows abo

The building of pads for copper heap leach is well known technology.  The goal is essentially zero seepage fo plastic liners ocvered with  a protective layer are often use.  is it becoming more common to have a dual barrier separated by a layer where leakage can be intercepted and detected/recovered.  Get a good text book on the subject.

Be careful with clay barriers.  Chemical testing is in order as the characteristic of some clays change with the acid chemistry in the piles.

I am sorry I am no expert in this field.  Just know enough to stay out of trouble I hope
