Model of photovoltaic array

Model of photovoltaic array

(OP)
Hi guys

I was wondering if I model the power output of a photovoltaic module (grid connected 200W) in Python based on the module technical specs and insolation etc.. can i then use this model as the model for a pv array.
so my power output result for the module * 10 is the same as a model for a 10 module pv array?

Thanks

RE: Model of photovoltaic array

It all depend on what type of study you want to perform. Simple load-flow might work.Harmonics, transient, flicker study might be quite inaccurate.

hi desrod thanks for the reply.

yes I just want to look at how my pv array can meet the respective load throughout the day

thanks

RE: Model of photovoltaic array

Why not look at the HOMER micropower tool?

It's free and already developed.

RE: Model of photovoltaic array

PVWATTS is a simple, free, on line modeling program developed by the National Renewable Energy Lab.  it uses historical irradiance and temperature data to predict the output of your solar electric system, which will never, ever be the same as what is on the spec sheet.
