Heat Transfer in a hollow metal plate

Heat Transfer in a hollow metal plate

Heat Transfer in a hollow metal plate

(OP)
A hollow metal plate with dimension (100mm x 100mm x 1mm) and a hole of 15mm radius at the centre. It is attached as s shown in figure attached. It is heated from 22 to 500 C.
When it is heated i guess the diameter of the hole increases. Why does it increase?

Now if i pinn all the 4 edges(sides) of the plate and heat it, what will happen to the hole? Will it increase or decrease in dimater? What i feel is, when all the edges are pinned, there is more heat concentration at the centre and the hole size decreases.

Am i right or wrong? any feedbacks please?
