Having Problem with Ribs

(OP)
I'm trying to make a Rib in a U shaped part but Solidworks keeping telling me it wont intersect the part but the arrow is pointed in the right direction. I've attached a picture of what I'm trying to do. Any tips are greatly welcome.

RE: Having Problem with Ribs

Your sketch needs to be attached to the part. I would suggest sketching a line at the finish height, create the rib, then cut away the excess. However, I'm not an expert on creating ribs so someone may have a better way.
