How to Estimate ARHM Pavement in Tons? Same Density as AC Pavement?

How to Estimate ARHM Pavement in Tons? Same Density as AC Pavement?

(OP)
I typically estimate asphalt concrete pavement in tons by using the formula [Tons = Cubic Feet of material x Density of ACP (148 lbs/cf) / 2000]. I need to estimate asphalt rubber hot mix in tons and am trying to find out if it's density is still around 148 lbs / cf. Anyone know?

RE: How to Estimate ARHM Pavement in Tons? Same Density as AC Pavement?

Since the rubber content is going to probably be 5% or less, I wouldn't adjust the unit weight much.  Probably still on the order of 142-144 pcf depending on your type of coarse aggregate.

If you know the unit weights and percentages of the mix constituents, you could calculate the bulk density.
