3 phase power

3 phase power

3 phase power

(OP)
I have an induction coil that requires 167KVA 380V 1 phase 50Hz.
My power supply is 415V 3 phase 50Hz.

How can I match the two, and what is the current in the power supply cables?

Thank in advance.

RE: 3 phase power

A transformer.

RE: 3 phase power

You need a transformer.
The induction coil will draw 439 Amps when supplied with 380 Volts.

Is Current = KVA / voltage? But some say need to divide by 1.732.

I'm confused when it comes to 3 phase. Need advice.

RE: 3 phase power

KVA = 1000 x Volts x Amps
Amps = KVA x 1000 / Volts

Your coil is single phase so forget 1.73
The current in the supply leads to the transformer will depend on the transformer type and connections. The transformer primary may be single phase or three phase and may be 415 Volts or 240 volts.
You may use a conventional transformer or an auto-transformer.
And, you are just 9% high at 415 Volts. It may be possible to run the coil on 415 Volts.
It depends.

Auto-transformer. Cheaper, lighter, smaller.
