HY-8 and Windows 7

(OP)
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone is using FHWA HY-8 7.2 on a Windows 7 (32 bit) computer. I recently installed Windows 7 and I'm trying to finish a project that I started using HY-8. It seems to work fine until I try to define an irregular roadway section. It gives an error that says "MFC application has stopped working". I've read that this error can be caused by anti-virus sofware. Just curious if this error is due to something specific to my computer or if others experienced it.
Thanks in advance for any input.

RE: HY-8 and Windows 7

You may want to try running the program XP version mode.  You can right click the .exe and ask it to run in a previous version of windows.  I personally have not tried it yet.

Using it and never got that problem...

Ditto, using it and haven't had a problem.  There is an older discussion in here about setting up the "windows virtual machine" though, which will run any legacy software.

Thanks for your responses. I reinstalled the Microsoft .Net framework and it seems to work fine now. I also downloaded and installed the Windows virtual machine. That's a very helpful tip. Hoping it will save some money on other software upgrades...Thanks Again
