Create solid gyroid model

Create solid gyroid model

Create solid gyroid model

(OP)
Hello,

I have been struggling for a few weeks with creating a solid model of a gyroid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyroid).  I have recently been investigating using law curves to define the solid, but I am not sure A.) how to use law curves based on threads I've read on this forum and B.) if law curves will even be useful for creating a solid model.

If anyone has any ideas off the top of their head for creating this model, I would truly appreciate it along with any possible new directions.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Create solid gyroid model

Are you a student?  And is this part of some 'assignment'?

I am a student at Michigan State University doing research in the computational electromagnetics laboratory.  We are doing research on scattering of light from different frequency selective surfaces and I am investigating the scattering of light from this structure.  I should've explained my situation in the beginning thread.

I was hoping to get some insight on how to tackle the creation of this solid, not merely have someone do this for me.

RE: Create solid gyroid model

You are coming very close to having this thread 'red-flagged' as the Eng-Tips Forum has a strict policy of not allowing students to use the resources of either the Forum provider or of the other professional members.  So I suggest that you prevail yourself of local NX mentors at the university, perhaps someone like Professor Chalou (tell him I sent you).
